Our neighbor once lamented that they couldn't find a table to fit over their fire pit on the patio next to their pool, so we created a custom furniture piece for them. Incorporating elements important to their family—just the two of them, their three kids making five, along with their pets and love of the water—this specialty table is now the centerpiece of their patio set and continues to draw raves from friends and visitors alike, just like beautiful coffee tables or dining room tables would.

"Oh favorite son-in-law," began my mother-in-law. I should add, the only son-in-law, and she is my favorite (and only) mother-in-law. "I need a new kitchen table, and the dining room tables are so sharp." I knew where this was going. Claiming the two best slabs of black walnut I had (her prerogative), we crafted a simple river table that serves as a stunning piece of custom furniture for her kitchen. Unlike the dining room tables, here we used Table Top epoxy for its durability and resistance to wear, making it a perfect fit for her space, alongside her other specialty tables.
